Been doing this for years. Diameter of hose is key, and you better hope it's not real cold when you transfer. I had to leave 275 gallons of oil once because the 3/4" hose and pump just wouldn't move the oil at 20F. Now days, i only collect where i can swap a whole container and leave the pumping to summer time. I have 900 gals of indoor storage for my system, so the oil is always warm and easy to move. My transfer pump is a fairly large gear hydraulic pump with a 3/4hp motor using 120V. You could look at a trash pump on a gas engine if you dont' have access to electricity on site.
